An old house

An old house

Driving in Eastern Nepal I saw
An old house amidst a wheat field
We stopped by to stretch our legs
And to take in the beauty of nature

The house stood alone, forlorn
Broken down in spirit and frame
The once mighty strong house
Now stands weak and fragile

Some greenery gives her hope

Reminding her of her own youth

Once a vibrant home with people

Now it is an old broken house

No more a home but breathing its last – left to perish.
